Nicholas Goodwin
Country Director, Indonesia
Nick Goodwin is a senior leader in management, behavior and systems, with more than 25 years of experience working across the private sector, government, universities, community-based organisations and international agencies. As Country Director for Delterra Indonesia, he leads country strategy, partnerships and program delivery to support systems-level change in waste management and the circular economy. Nick brings deep experience across sustainability, public services, health, WASH, agriculture, education and governance, with a strong track record of managing multi-stakeholder initiatives across Indonesia, the Asia–Pacific, Australia, as well as projects in Africa and the Americas. He is fluent in Indonesian. Prior to joining Delterra, Nick was the Founder and CEO of Tulodo, an Indonesia-based social and behaviour change agency providing project management, advisory, and incubation services. Through Tulodo, he supported the design and delivery of programmes spanning environmental sustainability, waste management, economic development, social inclusion and human behavior, with a focus on evidence-driven solutions and scaling what works. Nick also has experience in impact-oriented enterprise and leadership. He co-founded HBM (Hayuning Bhumi Makmur), a circular economy waste management company based in Yogyakarta, and has supported the development of social enterprises and advocacy initiatives across the region. Nick holds a PhD from the University of Sydney, where his research focused on behavior and community psychology. He also holds an MBA from Deakin University and completed studies in Asian Studies and international relations, at the Australian National University and Universitas Gadjah Mada.
