With over 30 years of experience driving sustainability initiatives worldwide, Marcus, a scientist by background, has dedicated his career to creating systemic change through cross-sector collaboration, from policymaking to business leadership, and inspiring individual action.
In his most recent role as Director of the Minderoo Foundation’s Plastics Initiative, he led global teams in Australia, Asia, and Europe to combat plastic pollution and its impact on human health and the environment. Previously, Marcus served as CEO of WRAP, an influential environmental NGO, where he focused on transforming product and food systems and advancing a regenerative circular economy. Prior to WRAP, Marcus worked on environmental programs in the UK and abroad for various organizations. After many years at the board level focusing on sustainability, he now has a portfolio of consulting, interim, and non-executive roles.
He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Imperial College, London, an Executive MBA from Cranfield School of Management, and is a Fellow of both the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers and the UK Chartered Institution of Wastes Management. His other non-executive roles include being a Trustee of the UK Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and a Supervisory Board Member of Circle Economy in the Netherlands.
Marcus is passionate about the role of organizations like Delterra in tackling the triple planetary crisis and implementing practical, on-the-ground solutions to benefit communities around the world.
