Marina has a professional background in urban solid waste studies, climate action plans and stakeholder management.

Marina is an Urban and Environmental Engineer with a specialization in Social Participation and Urbanism. Her studies were always transdisciplinary, focusing on interpreting the world from a holistic and integrated perspective.

Her experience spans the public and private sectors, as well as international NGOs and intergovernmental entities, such as the United Nations. She is passionate about themes revolving around solid waste, climate change and public policies.

Marina is a nomad at heart, having lived and worked in New Zealand, The Netherlands, Cape Verde and Brazil. Those experiences opened her horizons and left her with an even bigger desire to discover other cultures and initiatives that can change people’s lives for the better.

"When I first heard about Delterra, my eyes shone. This was the first time I encountered an organization willing to work across all stages of the value chain – from designing better packaging to separating post-consumer waste and recycling, processing and reinserting the material into productive use – all while working with the organic fraction of waste, which holds so much power in tackling climate change. This is the level of systemic change that I missed seeing in other organizations. More than just a job, being part of Delterra makes me believe in a better future for all.
